Fanbelt squealing, I think

i own 2 corrolas both automatic. both LE about a month ago Both started squealing. like the fan belts were getting old or something. i went in to see about changing them out for new ones. but the mechanic said my belts were still good. they said i should use a conditioner on it. so i went out and bought a can and sprayed it on both cars. now that GAWD awful noise is 10000 times worse. could it be a crank somewhere getting ready to go out. it sounds horrible and now im not sure what to do.i still have the HP in the car. so im not quite sure if this noies is really from the belt.

should i pay to have the one on the blue car replace to see if this stops the squeal? or is ther eanother option on how to pinpoint the actual problem?

What kind of conditioner?

I usually spray silicone lube on the belt while the car is running and that seems to do the job.

Does it always squeak or only at start up? Tensioner could be bad.

I agree. My car had a squeaky belt and a new tensioner solved my problem.
