2008 Corolla S Won't start when its been sitting cold or hot

So I have a corolla that does not start when it has been sitting for a few hours in temps that are below 55 degrees or above 90 degrees. It showed a check engine light twice out of the 7-8 times it has done this.

I have brought it to the dealer twice but of course it starts up fine because the weather is moderate during operating hours and they gave me some answer about a throttle body. I have no idea what is going on.

I never pulled it myself since the reader I had didn't pick up anything. It's frustrating because the dealer keeps giving me the run around. The car never acts up because I live in an area where the weather is only below 55/60 in the middle of the night.

What happens if you turn the key to ON, wait 5 seconds, then turn to START?

Yes I have. It cranks but does not fire up. I have tried coming back to it after a few minutes and hours. I have also tried to clear the check engine after I got it back from the dealer the first time. But I do appreciate the help.
