2006 Corolla S Stereo Removal

I have a 2006 Corolla S(blk sand color). I wish to replace the stock system(with exception of the head unit) and to replace it with some Sony Xplodes that a friend gave to me. Now I want to know what would be the best way to exchange the stock speakers. Also I wish to install an Ipod cable so I don't have to use a FM transmitter thingy. Lastly, I have two 10in. Power Acoustik subs with a 520 watt amp. What would be the best way to go about hooking that up to my stock head unit(if at all possible). I will inlcude as many pics as I can. If you need any more info that would help me, PLZ FEEL FREE TO ASK. THANK YOU!!!!!

Just keep in mind that, with the stock headunit, and especially Sony speakers it will sound piss poor.

You would get better sound from an aftermarket headunit and the stock speakers...which are probably better than anything Sony has put out anyway.

Now if i dont feel like spending $150 to have an ipod cable, and dont feel like hacking my own car, cant i just use a component cable? or will it not read it as aux? im just curious b/c if it cost that much $$ to get an ipod adapter then i just might as well get a new head unit

I've always had good luck with Pioneer speakers. I used them in a lot of older GM cars, and behind the stock Delco radios, man, they PUMPED out the tunes. Rich, deep tones.

I just put a pair into my Dodge Dakota, in the front. I may do the rears soon also. They sound real good...very clear. That truck already has a Pioneer head unit in it, though.

I have some Xplods...no bass at all(subs fix that) but great mid-high range...so there not completely worthless :-). The stock speakers are rated at like 17.5 watts so just about anything should be better (or louder at least)

if you hook up your amp, all you have to do is get an aux to headphone jack cable and use that. just have to be sure all your speakers go to the amp
