I think any mileage is a good time to drain out the manual transmission fluid and pour in some good Redline MT-90. I'm not generally a "synthetic oil" kind of person, but the MT-90 has transformed the shifting on my '07 LE with 23,000 miles on the odometer. I highly recommend it. It's not cheap, about $15/quart. But with only 2 quarts necessary, it's a rather inexpensive "modification" that will net you a positive change everytime you drive it (which, in your case, doesn't appear very often!).
The original battery may be a Delco. Toyota used Delco batteries during that era I think. Mine says "Toyota", but I'm not sure who actually manufactures it. Probably Johnson Controls (JCI).
