2007 Corolla LE - Squeaky, rattling noise around rear speaker

Hi,

When I first bought the car, on warm-hot days a rattling/squeaky noise would resonate from the left rear speaker, while the car was at stop or if it ran over bumps on the road. We asked the dealership to look at the problem, but they did not find any problems. The sound is quite irritating because it is quite loud.

While my dad drove the car, I put my hand on top of the speaker, but noise still comes out. I have tried looking in the trunk and making sure everything is tight and screwed on and everything does seem to be solid.A

Does anyone know what the problem could be? And as well should I try taking out the speakers and have a look at the configuration, if so, how would I do this? (I am a newb with cars.)

Thanks, swump

I have a similar problem on my 2005 Corolla & I suspect it coming from the rear side panels.

I had a similar problem. Only on HOT days, something from the back would squeak. So far, I've fixed it by jamming a length of foam weatherstripping (the kind with the peel and stick back, but I didn't peel the paper off) along the seam where the horizontal speaker deck panel intersects with the vertical side panel. You'll notice that there's some wiggle room there for the panels to move around. That's apparently where the squeaking is coming from.

Was it cured after you did that.
