Transponder key
Hello everyone, I wanted to find out some information. I purchased a transponder 4D key for my corolla 2007 and I checked it on a key reader from my friend to check if its a 4D key and it was. I went to a locksmith and they told me that the key might not work if its not the correct chip. I was told that there are 3-4 different types of 4D transponder chips. I was wondering if that was true? or were they just trying to make me buy their key? I also was wondering has never ever programmed a key to their Corolla 2007 and if so did you need a pin code? Thank you.
