like $3000.. and it depends. do you want better performance, or a fast car? you wont get the 2nd option with a turbo..

that's $3000 before labor installation charges and costs for a good tuning session.

whether it's "worth" it is up to you to decide.

if you're serious about it then call up some local shops and ask for some estimates for all the work.

Do not go with turbo kits....I have read 10 to 20 pages on how their kit doesnt fit right. It will also cost more than $3000 to do it right. The stock 1zz-fe can't handle 8psi...which is what the turbo kits is rated at...so you also need to get some engine parts like pistons and rods. You will need fuel maping, low compression pistons and some sort of boost control. It will take a lot of work as there really is NO drop in turbo for our cars, they all will have to be customized in one way or another.

If you want an easy way to go faster with less work, go with nitrous...theres much less tuning with that.

Just looked at turbo-kits....they have more than they used to lol

Heres what you would need on top of the turbo

Pistons: $569
Rods: $711
Oil Pan with return(unless yo want to try and drill/tap your own): $450
Cams/Springs: $382/$385

Total: $5500 with turbo +/- $2-300 for a managment unit

Now that is of course all out....and could hold more than 10psi most likely
Then you would need clutch/drivetrain upgrades as well.

Anyways turbos are expensive...but going fast is expensive :-p
You could probly tune back the turbo for 4-5psi on stock engine without worry, but dont quote me.

3000$ for a turbo kit, 500-800$ for a exhuast system, 700-900$ for a new clutch, then you'd probly need wheel and suspention upgrades to handle all that power, id say about 5 to 6 grand, not worth it for a corolla.
