What would you guys recommend for cleaning hazing headlights? I have to keep my car outside, and it is starting to haze the lights where the hood bends. There are several products at the store, but I was wondering what you would suggest as the best. The space that needs to be polished is fairly small, but right over the main beam. I would just feel better if it looked like I took care of my car better.
Porter Cable dual action polisher with an orange pad and my personal choice XMT #3 polish. When done polishing use a microfiber towel to wipe off. Then spray Plexus to protect them and wipe off.
Jason- the cleaned (treated) lights looking amazingly clean, what is this 3M kit, I mean what I should be looking for at autozone or advance auto parts. I need to clean the lights on old car.

I got it at AutoZone. $19.99 I think. Here's the exact kit:
wetsand with 2000 or 3000 grit sand paper (the higher the grit the finer the scratches) and then use Plast-X by Meguairs.
Plast_X is similar to Scratch-X but made for plastic material which is what your headlights are made of.
Afterwards use a good wax to protect it, you may have to do this from time to time though.
I believe I used a 1600 or 2000 grit sand paper. It looks worse now, and the Meguairs didn't help. Did I scratch the surface too much? Is it still salvagable?
Don't think I saw 3000 grit at the hardward store. I just used the sandpaper while continually pooring water over the surface. Is this wrong? Helpful hints?
Xmanteo, buy the power ball that comes with the plastix. That thing did the trick for me. Also, if you made the scrathes too deep, you can get some replacement headlights from k2motor for about $100. I will try to help you, just post some pics and we can decide from there.

The 3M kit includes everything you need, including the polishing wheel that you chuck into your drill. It's really the only thing I've tried that gives really good results. It's the last time you'll spend money on restoring headlights.
