04 Corolla stereo reset? (won't turn on)

i had a CD label stuck in my factory CD player, so i took the stereo out and removed the offending label. after reinstalling the stereo, it won't turn on. i assume that this is an anti-theft precaution, but i can't find the reset button/switch/code/technique in the owner's manual. i would rather avoid a trip to the dealer.

anyone have any suggestions?

thanks!

you could possibly take it down to a professional car audio store and they could probably tell you.
if you want to avoid the dealership, theres always a store that specializes in what you need right around the corner

I know that with VW radios (code req'd), you have to enter the code everytime the battery is disconnected.

Iv'e disconnected the battery several times on the rolla and have never had this problem. I would start with the fuses and double check the install.

I have a 2006 Corolla, and I have been scared to remove the battery... I know that my Honda Ridgeline has the security stuff all in it. However, I bought that from the dealer and they gave me the code in the Owners Manual. You may want to check that... I bought the corolla used, and the Owners manual did not have any code or help with the issue.

Good Luck!

thanks for the suggestions! i'm not really sure what fixed it, though... i finally got back to looking at it today, and the first thing i did was make sure the power connections were snapped in to place. then, i took the whole thing out again and reconnected everything, and it worked... it might have been the ribbon cable between the faceplate and the stereo, because when i removed the faceplate (for no good reason) the ribbon cable fell out of the socket. perhaps i loosened it enough the first time that it wasn't making good contact even though it wasn't until this time that it actually fell out.

in any case, thanks and no need to worry about anti-theft measures on this stereo!
