Wet Passenger Floorboards...Please Help

The passenger side floor in my 2004 corolla is soaking wet. Here is what I do know so far. First it is both the front and back passenger floor boards, but under the passenger seat is not wet.

My first thought was the AC drain was plugged but it is not wet under the dash but more towards the seat. My second idea was a leak in the sunroof, door, or windshield, but I have found no evidence of of a leak whatsoever. This has been reoccuring over the past few weeks so I do not beleive it is from driving through standing water.

Also, yesterday it rained all day while I was at work and there was standing water in both front and back passenger sides so I would think that would cancel out heater matrix or AC clog.

Right now I am thinking the sunroof drains are clogged, I blew out the two front ones with an air compressor last night only to find a wet floor this morning. Are there more drains in the back? Right now I am at the end of my rope so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it did. I am leaning towards the sunroof drains. Right now it is pouring so I will update if the floor is soaked again after work. I didn't turn on any climate control on the way to work in order to take away some variables.

well you could always take some towels dry up the mess. then place paper towels on the floor ( i mean a lot lol) close the doors wash your car and after your done see where there water is mostly at
usually after a couple tries you should find where its coming through at least

my dad had the same problem on his astro van.... found the problem( it was just a loose piece of rubber border on the door that had shrunken over time., sealed up the crack with some silcone and the problem went away

ohh yeah and if you do find the problem, i would seal it up b4 you go to bed and cover the area with some towels if you cant park your car in a garage the silicone should dry enough over nigh to hold.
just try not to stick your doors together, it kinda happened to us but it coulda been worse lol
Know your doors contact points!!!!

Wet passenger floor boards too. 2004 Coralla Matrix

I am having the same problem of water coming in the floorboards with my 2004 Toyota Corolla Matrix. This morning, after driving 3 hours yesterday, I discovered a lot of water on the floors of the passenger sides, both front and back. After driving 3 hours back home today, it was worse. It's not drippping from anywhere inside the car. I did not drive through any rain or puddles. I did have the air conditioner on for both drives, and the water continued coming in while driving. (It's not wet under the seats, just in the floor mat area.)

Keenster, did you ever figure out the cause of your water on the floor boards?

My reply won't apply if H2O is getting in while the car is parked, but, fwiw, my ol' '92 Celica convertible was missing "plugs" on the underside that allowed water to get into the carpeting when physically driving in the rain. Had to take it to the dealer to physically show them the plug location, as my local Toyo dealer parts dept is totally inept (don't even ask me about my part problem with my wife's '05 Corolla ..... a clip that a bolt goes into to hold up the "skidplate" under the front of the fuel tank got broken - they told me that they only see the bolt in the parts catalog, and that perhaps I should try a junkyard !!!! I'm thinking of taking that complaint to corporate, I mean, c'mon, it's an '05, for crying out loud, not like I'm trying to source parts for an early '70's Toyota, or something. Really soured me on this dealer..... but I love our 'yotas, just despise the local stealership)

Since it happens when it is raining or washing the car i would not think it would be anything inside. It could be that the window seals on the door are letting water through and if the holes at the bottom of the door are blocked it could back up inside the car. If it were the door seals it would seem like you would notice it coming in. Just my two cents

Solution to wet floors

It turns out that the air conditioner drain was detached. The drain is accessible from inside the car in front of the passenger seat, up under the dash. My daughter must have kicked it off.

I need all of your help.
So I have a similar problem as the other two problems listed. I have a 2004 corolla and I was driving from BC to AB a few days ago and after a few hours driving in the 30 degree heat (with A/C on), I noticed that the floor in front of the back passenger seat was soaking wet. I had a box of wine there and I checked each bottle and they were all full and not leaking. On the way out to BC I also had a box of crackers there and noticed it was wet when I arrived, but didn't really think anything of it. I searched the car for anything that could have leaked and there was nothing.
After reading the posts above it seemed feasible that the A/C hose was the problem. So I took my car to a toyota dealership and told them all of the above. Emphasizing that it was not raining at the time so anything linked to that could be rulled out. Well, they called me today and said they repalced all the window seals (2 hours of labour) and they thought that fixed the problem. Obviously I told them I won't pay for that, but I am worried that they will try to charge me more than what the actual cost is to clear out the AC hose (if that is the problem). Any advice???

Canada 2006 corolla CE -same wet floor problem

I just wanted add that I am experiencing the same issue with the wet floor.

I did a clean up two weeks ago and noticed the wet floor and dried it up.

A week later it's soaking wet so I used my shop vac and dried it up.
Today it's wet again. It seems to be just my rear passenger side floor.
I will check the drain hose if I can find it.
