2003 Corolla, Air Conditioner Not working

Noticed late fall last year my air conditioning seemed to be working sporadically. This summer, running but now not blowing any cold air. Just bought a E134A cooling kit. When I checked the gauge prior to adding coolant seemed to indicate was mechanical issue vs needing refrigerant. Any know issues with this year and model on air conditioner. Car has 68K miles, so seems pretty low for the AC to go. Any ideas? Many thanks.

Can you elaborate on this relay switch. As of yesterday the A/C compressor does not at all engage, but there is a noticable drop in RPM when the A/C button is depressed. It acts as if everything is working just fine, but the compressor does not kick on. Everything had been working perfectly fine until the day before. Any additional thoughts?

The AC relay is called M/G CLT on the fuse lid, bottom left of fuse box under the hood (as you are facing the front of the car), it is a relay (block) not a fuse. You can switch it out with the horn relay, top left, 3rd one down, to see if the AC works with the horn relay. If the AC relay is bad, you can get one at an autoparts store, as the dealer charges an extremely high price for the AC relay. As mentioned above, check for anything on the contacts that might impede its use.

Thanks for your response. This relay was in fact the culprit, and my local NAPA had it for under $30.00. Called the local stealer, $72.00 Thanks Again!
