disable 2006 corolla xrs daytime running lights

how to do i disable the daytime running lights on the 2006 corolla xrs. With the drl on it keeps burning out the hid bulbs too soon because it makes them flicker. Thanks any help would be great.

The same way you do on any 2003-2008 Corolla. There's a wire you can cut that will basically cut power to the DRL module. Search the site for "disable DRL" or something similar.

I think the best and fastest way is just cover the light sensor (the black plastic bubble on left side near the windshield) with something to fool the sensor to think it's always night time and use full power to the headlights. You'll still have auto light on and off.
