USA 2005 Front Wheel Bearing?

I have noticed lately that I have a noise starting about 20 mph and upwards of 2,000 rpm from the front wheels, most noticeably from the left front. However, Haynes, this forum, and collateral searches online haven't provided a sort of step-by-step procedure of how to either diagnose or change the wheel bearings...at least I suspect they might be the culprits. I have about 84,000 miles on it, and changed the rotors and then had it aligned thinking the rotors may have been out-of-round, but to no avail. At least with the trucks, the bearings are seated in the rotors or within the hubs, but for the 'Rolla I have to assume there is a bearing press involved, but I would really like to do it myself. So, I guess I'm calling on the experts that seem to be everywhere in this forum to help. I mean, this forum has saved me SO MUCH MONEY that it boggles the mind, but more than that, I like figuring out how to do things myself. Hopefully, you guys can walk me through diagnosis and remedy...THANKS!!!

The first thing that you need to do is lift the car and check if there is any play in the bearing by trying to move the wheel side to side and up and down. If it passes that test the only thing I would suggest is taking it to somebody that has a lift and letting them accelerate it on the lift. By doing this step you should be able to find the culprit. Once you find which one is bad then changing it is easy. You will have to take the part to a shop so that they can press the bearing in but, the job is fairly easy. Once your ready to start the job either myself or any body else can walk you through it.

You made a good buy by buying the Rav. I actually have a 97 Rav4 2dr and it has been the best car I have ever owned. If you have any questions about the bearing on the corolla just ask all of us here.
