Manual tranny 4th gear Pop Out !!! - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi guys Im from Puerto Rico and Ive gotta 04 Corolla S thats popping outta 4th gear. NE Suggestions on what could be the problem b4 i get shafted by a repair shop??? Car has 83,000 miles and other symptoms are that 4th gear is kinda rough to engage and if it pops out and i put it back in itll keep on popping out, it only does it when the car has warmed up and i think the clutch is slightly warned. Could it be the worn clutch or burnt tranny oil???? thnxs in advance!!!!!

I would be that it is a bad 4th gear synchronizer.

I don't know what it could be, but I doubt it's due to the fluid, and it most definitely is not a clutch problem. It's likely something internal to the transmission.
