Arrow Changing Coolant Temperature Sensor

hello guys just got a new coolant temp sensor for my car today but there's no seal on the treads the guy from Toyota told me to just screw it in there not to tight but on most sites theres some kind of sealing on the treads on c.t.sensors so i don't know what to do did he give me bad advice should i put some kind of seal on there .....its a 04 corolla saloon 1.4l irish car...

A little Teflon tape wouldn't hurt. Don't overdo it with the tape, but a few wraps of it should be fine.

There might be a gasket or o ring for the sensor that probably cannot or should not be reused.

i was thinking Teflon tape myself thanks Jason just abit they said theres no gasket or o rings for it thanks guys
