Non-Drive By Wire Cruise Control Install Help

I found the great guide to installing cruise control in a Drive-By-Wire Corolla in these forums, however (and I was confused by this) my 2003 Corolla CE is NOT Drive-By-Wire--definitely cable.

First off, I thought all 2003 would be drive by wire (aren't all 9th Generation Corollas?), I can't really find any definitive information though.

Second, and more importantly, if I want to install cruise control, can anyone give me words of wisdom / advice / or an overview of the pain I'll have to go through in a Non-Drive-By-Wire install?

At this point, I haven't even been able to find the parts I'd need to do this, let alone the wisdom to do the actual project, but I'm hopeful that I (or more likely, multiple very smart, generous people) can figure this out.

2003CorollaCEOwner, doesn't look like we're gonna get much help on this. i did call the local dealer here in greensboro and the quoted me $314 + tax installed. i've looked online & found the DIY OEM kit for $220. probably worth the extra $100 to let somebody else do it? later
