Hello Everyone Firstly I Noticed An Oil Leak Under My Corolla Sitting On The Underside Of Bell Housing It Was Gear Oil So I Took It To The Local Kwik Fit And They Diagnosed Drive Shaft Gasket Was Leaking So That Was Changed I Was Told That The Gear Box Would Have To Be Drained Because Of The Gasket Poroblem. When I Went Back To The Gareage He Advised Me That The Leak Had Been Fixed But He Told Me That The Gear Box Oil Was Black. What Could Have Caused This As I Have Always Believed Gear Box Oil Never Gets Dirty. Plus Could Some One Tell Me Where The The Filler Cap Is For Gear Box Oil Change On A Corolla 03 Plate Cheers

This is a manual transmission? The fill plug is on the front. There's a Do It Yourself link at the top of this forum, you can get photos there. Most oil will darken over time. Manual transmission lubricant being black after 6 years is not surprising. It most likely will benefit from the change.
