'03 Security

My baby was broken into last week and the retard who did it screwed up my dash when he pried the aftermaket stereo out of the dash (he apparently knows nothing about stereos, he could've slid it out of the dash kit with two screwdrivers).

Anyway, after replacing the driver door glass and having the insurance company order replacements for the stereo and the GPS, is there an acceptable aftermarket solution for adding a security system to this vehicle (it already has keyless entry)?

I'm considering it only because if I buy the system and it prevents another similar theft, it pays for itself.

I've poked around online without any real good idea of whether I can install the VIP OEM system with satisfactory results or if a VIPER or similar aftermarket system would be a better choice.

I would talk to your local dealer about installing the OEM VIP system. They may have to add additional sensors to the system (like an aftermarket one) that may drive the cost up to more than an aftermarket system would be.

for the VIP RS3200+, i don't know they still has the kit for 2003, I bought RS3200+ when I got my 08 S, that was 03 kit and a few spot don't 100% fit in but i got in with a few mods. there should be a installation diy in the forum here, take a look before you decide go for aftermark alarm or oem vip 3200+

Installing 2008 Toyota Corolla Factory Alarm

PS. dealer will not install vip alarm, they only offer you aftermarket. the oem alarm has to be install from the factory as they told. Which is BS, they just don't want to spend the time.

I'm seriously pondering a Viper system, but I'm waiting on them to get back with me as to what relays/overrides I'll need to install one of their systems. Ultimately I'd rather have a Viper system simply due to the fact that it has a shock sensor, which is more than the Toyota system offers.

I tried to use Viper's online "build your system" thingy, but it only goes back as far as 2005 for the Corolla.
