Hi everyone,
I couldn't find anything specific in the forum on cruise control installation for 2004 Corollas, so I'm posting a new thread.
I have a recently bought 2004 Corolla CE Automatic. This weekend, I took it on a five hour drive from Little Rock to Dallas and back, and everything worked smoothly, but my right foot got tired from keeping the pedal depressed in a fixed position while driving on the Interstate. I figure I could overcome this, as well as improve my gas mileage somewhat if I had cruise control. I plan on doing a fair bit of long drives in this car, so I reckon it could be a good idea if
Here then, are my questions:
1. Is it possible to have aftermarket cruise control installed in this model?
2. If so, what could I expect to pay to have it done, including parts and work?
3. Would I have to get it done with Toyota dealer, or could a third party do it cheaper? Just as importantly, would the latter be wise? In other words,
should I get a Toyota dealer to do it?
4. I will probably sell the car in a year (moving home to Norway). Could I expect to get a significantly better selling price if it has cruise control, or would it only make a minor difference?
I have seen DIY guides for this, at least for later models, but I don't trust my extremely modest mechanical skills to fiddle around with something like this.
I live in Little Rock, AR, if that makes a difference.
Looking forward to your response
PS: I realize I can ask a Toyota dealer what they would ask, but I have no idea who to talk to when it comes to a third party. If you have an idea on pricing for either, I'd love to know.
