Question for you Corolla Peeps

Alright Camry owner needing some Corolla assistance.
I did a search for this already.I'm a TN vet so don't yell.Lol.
I'm planning on replacing the shift indicator light and map light on a 2008 Corolla S and
1.How do I get to the shift light?
2. What LED do I use for the map light?
I saw someone's right up of how to get to the shift light but didnt make sense when I went to do it.
Also I bought the right LED number for the map light but when I went to install it def wasn't right. It's not the wedge bulb I expected it to be.Some help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Where is the shift indicator light? My '07 doesn't have that one. Was that new for '08?

I think he means the light under his shifter for his auto tranny.

There is one for the 2008.If you pop off the cover that shows the gears you can look down and see the bulb buried in a little slot. But There's another way to supposedly get to it from the bottom but I don't know how.

Oh, duh. I'm thinking manual transmission. Cars used to have a light that blinked on that dashboard when the ECU would suggest that you shift for best economy. My '07 (manual transmission) doesn't have one (thank you, Toyota). I thought you had meant that your '08 did (if it is a manual shift).
