My wife and I recently purchased our 08 Carolla S a couple of weeks ago. So far we love it. We traded in our 98 Camry for it. I really like the "sporty" feel to it compared to the Camry.

Is there anything I should worry about? After reading the writeups on Consumer Reports this was an easy buy. My only gripe is how easy the paint chips.

Just do the maintenance as required, drive safely, and you will probably have a long relationship with your car. Congrats on your purchase!

Congratulations on your purchase. The paint does seem rather fragile. It's a very thin coat I guess.

Congratulation! and Welcome to the forum, tell you what, you got the good pick on 08, as for myself I was in the line to pick 08 or 09, I bought my 08 S at end of Jan 08 and the 10th gen was also at the parking. but I test drove on it and I don't really like the steeling , it does has more options like heated mirror and mp3 ready, but the driving feels in 10th gen, can't compare to 9th gen. so I pick the 08 S, also the main reason I pick 08 is the aftermarket parts

My only regret, I should have two of them! If I buy one for my myself, I would want a manual.

Congrats on your new car. Things to watch out for are that the center console compartment doors are notorious for breaking easily. But it is an 08, the last model of the 9th Gens, so as a rule of thumb all the little kinks from the previous models have been resolved by now.
