Rear brakes on 07 CE

Could someone give me an idea of how much I should expect to pay for a complete rear brake job on an 07 CE. New drums and shoes.

thanks, balbrec2

$20-50 per drum at Rock auto. $15-50 for the shoes, so anywhere between $35 and $150 do it yourself. $15-25 if you're a cheapskate like me and take the drums to the shop that turns them for $5 if they need it.

Just curious, why does your '07 need a complete rear brake job already? Those rear shoes are usually good for 100k+ miles.

The car has 48k mi on it now but i think it sat for a couple of weeks before I bought it.
There is a repetitive knocking noise coming from the left rear wheel only when braking. I think the drum may have developed a rust ridge in it or something to that effect. The brakes work ok but there is that noise. I will have it checked out by my mech. Just was wondering if it needed brakes
due to this , of course do both sides. thanks

just scrape off the rust that has developed on the outer drum surface

rear brakes wear out very slowly, you will change the front brakes 2 or 3 times before the rear brakes need replacement

Theres really no need to replace the shoes for the rear drums. If anything a drum resurface to assure good even contact for the shoes and a adjustment is all thats needed.
I took a look at the shoes at 65k on my 03 and they should last another 30k.
