Any suggestions on a good quality windeshield wiper replacement for my '04 Corolla LE. I have seen these Goodyear wipers being sold in Costco recently and was thinking of picking up a pair.
Also, I've noticed the front headlights on my car have a lot of haze on them and it is affecting visibility while driving at night. What is usually done to correct this problem (is a complete replacement necessary?).
Thanks in advance.
OEM inserts work well for me. A very good cleaning, not just a wash, of the windshild often cures what people call bad wipers.
The Meguiar's PlastX plastic cleaner works very well to remove haze. Multiple applications by hand are necessary and then cover the lens with a good wax.
Wipers? Valeo 600 series. About $16 for 2 at Amazon, Difficult to find at retail stores.
Anco 30 series are inexpensive but highly rated. Avoid expensive blades they are very overpriced.

Hazy Headlights?
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU USE. Avoid anything that sands.
Meguiar's usually are superior auto products however i have no feedback on their headlight restoration. I tried Meguiar's cheaper bottle of lens cleaner, did not seem to help

Walmart sells a silver packaged Headlight restoraton Crystal View about $19--, sometimes marked down to $16--
I have heard firsthand excellent remarks from mechanics who have used it.

I bought two pair of Silverstar headlights(Ultra for the high and regular Silverstars for the low beans) at Amazon for $20 for two, Usually $40-$50 at retailers. They improved my headlight visibility very much, although the bulbs have a one year life span. Need more advice on these bulbs let me know. There are some points to consider. One headlight bulb change on your Toyota Corrola may require the battery to be taken out and still tricky to install.

For wipers my 05 Taco and my wife's 03 Corolla have Rain X Latitude blades. They are over 1 yr. old and these things are amazing. Best deals are usually on e-bay for them. They sheet rain and do not skip or jump. As for headlight restoring forget doing it with hand. Use a dual action buffer like a Porter Cable get a medium cut pad and a medium polish like XMT (Pinnacle) or Poorboys...over the counter Meg's or Mothers will work too. You can buy a kit if you want to do it right, but I already have all my pro detail stuff and do them with a 6" pad. Here is more info http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-headlight-how-to.html And lastly if this doesn't help you must use 2000 grit wet/dry sand paper to get out all the oxidation and fading. I only recommend pro's do this or if you can thoroughly read directions and are attention to detail.
I used the 3M kit, and it came with 300 grit paper, 600 grit paper, 3000 grit paper, and a disc that you chuck into a drill. I did that on the headlights on my Dakota and got amazing results.
For blades, the Michelin ones from Walmart have worked the best for me. 6 or 7 bucks each. Cheap, and last a long time. I've had lousy luck with the Rain X ones (they chattered right out of the package, and I got the same results on two different vehicles with two different pairs of them) and Bosch MicroEdge blades (they didn't last long at all). Fortunately, Walmart let me return the Rain X ones.

Which Rain X? I am almost positive it wasn't the Latitude!
Wow everyone!!! Thanks a lot for all the excellent info and recommendations!!! I'm pretty much mechanically challenged, LOL! I'm so glad I'll be able to clear up that headlight haze/fog myself and don't have to pay a whole lot to have someone else do it.

I don't know what they were called. The set I tried a few years ago had a conventional frame. The set I tried about 6 months ago was the new curvy frameless ones. Both chattered right out of the box.

Agreed. I recommended a set of Rain-X Latitudes to my friend for his Sienna, and they ended up working great. No streaking or chattering. But if you had a problem with those wipers, you could've returned them to the store where you bought them and got something else.
