Mickered30 that seems out of the ordinary to have a waterpump go out that quick. Did you by chance do a coolant change and use regular tap water with your anti freeze mixture? Did you change your own pump or did you send it out for repair?

I was surprised that it went that early. I never did a coolant change, as the 05+ use a super long life coolant that requires the coolant to be changed intially at 100K miles, but of course I would change it sooner. This coolant is bought premixed from the dealer. The 03-04 corollas use a different coolant, and I am not sure if they are interchangeable.
I was going to change the coolant this fall, but I saw the leak before my powertrain warranty was up, so I took it to the dealer, and they did it for free. I got a new pump, and asked for my thermostat to be changed, as the coolant was already drained and the alternator was already off. I had to pay for thermostat replacement, but it was money well spent.
I think that 90K miles is a good interval to change the pump, as it is recommend on other toyotas that have timing belts to have the water pump changed at the same time.
