Drove through large mud puddle and now engine light is coming on?

The other night during a rain storm I managed to drive my 2008 Corolla Manual through a pretty large mud puddle on one of our local highways. The exterior of the vehicle was completely covered and some made its way into the engine compartment.

This morning the engine light is coming on. I'm suspecting mud has made its way into the air intake for the engine and am about to start cleaning the engine compartment but am wondering if there's any other things I should look out for??

Stop by a shop and have them check what the code is. Then let us know what the code was.

Looks like that's what I'll have to do. The air intake was clean and I don't see any other obvious signs of the problem.

If you get a PO420 for a cat converter below threshold, it may be just because the cat changed temps so quickly and not because the cat is actually junk.
