New battery 05 corolla, safe to disconnect?

Hey guys. It's time to replace our battery on our 05. Just wondering if we can safely disconnect it without screwing the PCM etc. I've heard of issues relating to this, car not running right after and such. Could someone let me know if I can just swap it. Thanks.

you can safely disconnect the battery without causing harm. remove the negative, remove the positive, remove the battery. insert new battery, connect the positive and then connect the negative.

you'll probably end up having to reset the time and your radio station presets if you don't get one of those devices that saves all that for you.

You'll be ok. The pcm may have to perform a "self relearn" procedure. I replaced mine this past summer and the car idled really strange for about 1-2 days of driving. It would be rough at times and really low. After 2 days everything cleared up and all is well.

The 05 stock battery died on you ? ? ? Did you leave your lights on overnight. I recently got a OPTIMA red top because my stupid daytime running lights kept blinking because of my sound system EVEN with a capacitator. I must say the stock battery is horrible esp during the winter. Get optima red top battery if you have heavy electronics.
