Unhappy 2007 Corolla poor gas millage

I have 2007 corolla that just started getting extremely poor gas mileage. I normally travel 400 kl on 1/2 to 3/4 tank of gas, I just took the same trip (400 kl) and it took over a tank of gas driving the same way I normally drive , nothing has changed, tire pressure is okay, just had oil and air filters changed.. My last trip was one week ago with nothing being done to the Corolla but parked for a week.

Any suggestions what could cause a drop in millage like this would be appreciated.

What is your actual economy? Need to divide distance driven by the fuel used (or the other way around, depending on how you measure fuel economy). How do you measure economy over there? L/100km? In the US, it's miles/gallon, or MPG (Miles Per Gallon).

Going by distance you can drive on a tank is not accurate, because maybe your tank didn't get filled all the way last time, maybe the gas gauge in the car isn't accurate, etc. You need to run the calculation based on the odometer and how much fuel the car took. Over 2-3 tank fulls, you'll get an accurate reading of your fuel economy.

outdoor temperature, drivers foot,, about it with a 2007 corolla

wanted to add resistance (low tires, wind)
and lack of coasting
but most largely outdoor temps.

Same Problem here

I have a 2007 LE purchased in 2006 that was getting me over 40 MPG on the highway for the first year and a half or so if my memory serves me correctly.

The first x country trip I took with it I was getting 42-43 (with the AC on much of the time), and the next trip I took a year later I was only getting around 33-35 or so (without AC running much). My last hwy trip was approx 650 miles round trip about a month ago, and on that trip I calculated right around 30 (No AC at all). This is really beginning to worry me.

My 2nd trip across country is when I began to notice and ended up stopping at a dealership to see if they had any suggestions. They had none really except to check the tire pressure, all of which were within a lb or so.

I am a pretty sensible and consistent driver, do not have a lead foot, and the car has been maintained well. I just bought a new air filter for it, but honestly the original looks like it has barely been used. The car has < 19,000 miles on it, half of which has been highway mileage. Oiil is changed every 5000 miles or less.

It runs fine otherwise but I am worried that at this rate either something very bad is going to happen to the car or I'll end up driving like Fred Flintstone!

I expect if I take it to the dealer I'll get nowhere just like before and or they'll want to charge me just to look at it even though it is now on an extended warranty (as of this month).

Any help/insight would most greatly appreciated here. I'm just not sure what is going on here and my best course of action. It is a pity too since I really like the car otherwise.

Thanks in advance...

BTW, I think we can rule out ethanol..
