Starting issues

This morning I went to fill up at a BP station when I got back into the car it wouldn't start at all. No cranking or anything. I popped the hood and check the battery terminals and they were on tight. All the accessories in the car worked but it wouldn't crank. At that point I had no idea what was wrong with it until I tried one more time and it fired up just fine. The battery was replaced a few months ago so that is fine.
I went home after and took off the terminals and cleaned them off with baking soda. It wasnt much corrosion on them. Connected them back and forgot to coat them with vaseline.

Any ideas what could be the issue with the no start condition outta no where. Maybe heat soak to the starter or something?

I guess it could be heat soak. Any codes? What year is your car?

Grrr it happened again when I went to the store this morning. Starts up fine in the morning and then wouldnt start at all after. I think the starter motor is just getting massive heat soak cause you needa wait at least 15 minutes before the car will fire up again.

I'd have your dealer diagnose it and replace the malfunctioning parts. This is not normal operation.

I told my mom today try not to use the car as it wont start after its shut off. She decided to take it anyways and calls me later on saying it wont start again. She was lucky enough to be next to a napa store and asked one of the guys to see whats wrong. They were 100% certain it was the starter so they ordered one. She paid $270 for everything installed.
It's kinda weird how the starter just fails outta no where. The car only has 73k miles on it. How realiable are the starters on the corolla. Anyone else with a problem with their starters?
