This magna flow system looks really nice. They really have a nice site. I wonder, is this a do-able project for a diy. Does it require welding?

Unless your factory pipe is not serviceable, it is adequate size, and your biggest restriction is the factory muffler. Going too large on the pipe diameter can slow down exhaust velocity, causing poor throttle response and sluggish performance in the lower and mid-range RPM where you mostly drive a street driven car. 2.00" diameter pipe will support up to nearly 150hp, and 2.25" will support up to nearly 200hp. Not having a kit offered for your Corolla, I can only suggest a good pipeman at a reputable muffler fitment shop could reproduce your factory pipe in a slightly larger size if needed.
What's the difference between CAT-BACK EXHAUST SYSTEMS
& Exhaust CUT-OUTS?

Can a Cut out be installed on a Cat back exhaust system?

Can these 2 function together & any gains by makin a combo?

According to exhaust experts for most cars, inner & outer dia for max performance vs. OEM shout be approx 2 1/4”.

So now my conclusion after some research is that I am going for the following regarding replacement of the stock exhaust in terms of performance gains in HP & Torque.

2. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=8134

3. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=8366

Hoping to hear your expert views,

Yezinki.

Stock sizes are as follows:
Exhaust muffler length: 21”
Resonator length: 21”
Catalytic Convertor length: 10.5”
Exhaust pipe dia: 1.9”
Do I need to change the whole piping from the catalytic convertor onwards since its 1.9" & what I am planning to install is 2.25"?
Confusion is between cat back muffler with a exhaust cut back.....is it possible......or what mods what I need to do more?

Yezinki.

Finally after lots of thinking, research & professional opinions am planning to go with this combination.
No real need of a Cut out exhaust.

Yezinki.

The stock HP is around 130......what would the HP of a modded/ charged be?

Cause 2.25” inlet supports easily till 200 HP……..do I need to change the pipe if I replace the muffler……..larger inlet than 2.25” can slow performance as the gases would remain in for a longer duration……impendence/obstruction as with a 2” one?

I found a muffler & 2 others……what are they…….resonator & catalytic convertor?

1st, 2nd & lastly the muffler.
