Even if most think it's another scam..........but it's not.......even with the specs of my stock vehicle min 15% gain & on ground may be plus 30%.......... have nothing to lose......money refunded in 30 days.
Thanks REN69........I shall.
The manufacturers technical staff challenged to my earlier thread about no piggy back/performance chips…….so what have I to lose any ways ……..whether you or Mr. PhatRoyale agree or not………I shall get my money back plus a free trip to the company……..they are so damn confident……even a free dyno check to see performance before & after………..you could be right most of the times I agree but not every.
I have been practicing med as an MD for 22 yrs plus, but still am learning new things……….in my dictionary there is nothing as impossible………every thing is possible…….always give the benefit of doubt……one should never be arrogant, extra smart or clever, that’s what I have learnt in these years.
The Smt8 is a universal product that can alter fuel mixtures and in most cases advance and retard the ignition timing.
The Price of the Smt8 User Kit is $487.08 excluding shipping and any taxes.
The pros are that the unit can drive extra injectors (for when you supercharge). The Smt8 can also alter a lambda signal to prevent the ecu for leaning out the fuel mixture and it can 'clamp' the analog voltage so the ecu does not detect boost pressure.
The cons would be if the ignition cannot be intercepted.
Yes can add a supercharger and use the same Smt8 unit.
The Smt8 is a piggyback controller which can be used on turbo/supercharged or normally aspirated engines.
The XMS4 ranges are fully standalone engine management systems which can be used on turbo/supercharged or normally aspirated engines.
That page on our website is just a general guide on when to start considering changing from a piggyback system to a full standalone system. In your case a piggyback Smt8 and a supercharger you can expect power gains of up to 100% depending on the boost level the supercharger can deliver. You can install both the Smt8 and a XMS4 but you don't need to, the Smt8 is more than enough.
If you don't install a supercharger then the gains between a Smt8 and a XMS4 will be the same. If you install a supercharger the gains between the Smt8 and XMS4 will vary by 2-5% maximum. The XMS4 should make more power when a supercharger is fitted. The XMS4 to suit you vehicle or the one I would go for is the XMS4A-4AKTB and another Blue Fire ignition amplifier. Cost would be $1044.79 excluding shipping.
I would go for a piggyback like the Smt8. Why, because the factory ecu will control the main engine functions and the Smt8 will be tuned where the stock ecu need to be fine tuned. Tuning is a lot less with a piggyback and can be easily returned to stock if need be. When/if you super charge the Smt8 can be programmed with an additional injector to add the required fuel. The only times I would go for an XMS is if you were planning to increase the size of the injector and not add an addition injector to meet the required fuelling demand, or if your stock ecu was damaged
I would recommend that you buy the Smt8U-Kit, it has everything you need to communicate and tune the unit. Plus it included a CD with software and manuals.
The Smt8 is the best choice of piggyback for your vehicle. For the standalone range it depends what you would require from the system. A XMS4A-2 would work in wasted spark and batch injection. A XMS4B-8AKTB would work in sequential ignition and injection and this system has a built-in 2.5 bar amp sensor and comes with a dual channel Blue Fire ignition amplifier. The XMS4B range can work directly with a wideband LSU4 lambda sensor. So as you can see you have a lot of choice when it comes to choosing a standalone system. It all comes down to what you require.
The BEST & MOST VERSATILE...which suits my vehicle........gives a better FC in city & great acceleration while on highway with high rev driving.
That's what I want!
The Smt8 if tuned properly will give you this.
This is probably the sum of all the above. Yes, it is possible! You need to be realistic about it! Don’t expect 50% more performance! But we think an average of 15% is achievable. Low performance increases are 5%, and high increases are 25%.
These gains are typically referring to normally aspirated engines. In aftermarket turbo or supercharger installations, up to 100% or more can be expected.
I don’t understand why some members are so skeptical, sarcastic & have a negative opinion in their minds …..Realize most Piggy backs don’t function, but at least am spending my time, energy & money......if supposedly even gives me 15% extra power , the whole experiment shall be of benefit for everyone who wants such a device. Even after reading all the above documented facts why is it so difficult to understand, why doesn’t it make sense…? I realize that on ground situation is different which I shall let you know.

Agreed........topic temporarily closed till then.....Mr. PhatRoyale.

This stuff works by lightening your wallet. 29-30 MPG should be easily attainable in an '02 Avalon. I'd get 30 MPG in my old '97 Cadillac with a V-8 engine.
