annoying sound when i driver faster than 70 mph

I just brought a used 2008 corolla S and sometimes when I'm on the interstate driving 70-75 mph I hear a noise that kinda sounds like a tea kettle and thats noise you here from old new flashes on the radio. Sometimes it sounds like its coming from the top of my front windshield, sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the back.

When it's raining or its earily in the morning and my car is frosty i don't here it, but in the after noon I here it alot.

Any idea's what could be causing this?

When you are stopped, flip the wipers to high and shut them off just as the wipers return to the bottom of the windshield.

If they have been used at a slow speed on the highway previously, and the wipers on the car have enough air resistance to them, they will tend to sit slightly above their normal resting spot. Air will flow between the glass and the rubber and make a whistling sound.

I have had this problem also for the past 2 years on and off. No one can seem to find the cause, the dealer did something with the windshield molding but it did not help. Very frustrating.

Yes, I've noticed the same sound in my sister's '08 Corolla LE. It only started after I got the brakes done @ the dealer though.

i thought i was the only one with this problem!! I cannot figure it out. Sometimes it sounds like its coming from the windshield and sometimes it sounds like its coming from under the dash. It is a high pitched squeeling sound like a tea kettle. If anyone has any ideas, please post!!
Thanks a lot

Try different vent settings and fan speeds, could be due intake plenum variations.

Definitely an air leak from around the windshield. The insulation around the windshield needs to be fixed in order for the sound to go away.

I get the same sound out of my 2005 XRS at speeds above 100 mph combined air speed (crusing at 75 with 25mph+ wind gusts, etc).

But the sound for me comes from under the arm rest area.
