No Heat on right side

I notice on my wifes 03 that hot air blows from all drivers side vent and cold air blows from all passenger side vents. I looked under the dash from the passenger side and there is a clear view of the back of the temp control dial. there are two little nubs on the back of that dial and only the bottom nub has a cable connected to it. I'm not sure if the top one is even supposed to have a cable but that 's the only thing I can come up with that may solve my problem. Maybe someone could look at there car and see if it looks the same.
