Exclamation Battery Cable Terminal End

Hi, I have a problem with my positive cable end being corroded, so I cleaned it up once before and cleaned it up again just earlier today, but as I was taking it off the positive the clamp felt so weak that it literally tore. I was wondering how easy or what is the instructions on replacing the end? Is all that is required is to remove the 12 mm nut on the terminal and replace it with a new screw type cable end? Or would I have to cut the cable and get a clamp version for the terminal? Please help. Thank you.

Replace the terminal with the same style terminal, either from Toyota, or aftermarket.

90982-05056 is the part number from Toyota. There's definitely no reason to start cutting and clamping.
90982-05030 is another part number that will work fine for you, it's just quite a bit less money.

It's as simple as removing the 12mm nut, replacing the terminal, and putting the nut back on. Easy as pie.

Be glad that Toyota stocks the cable end! I had a similar problem on our Chrysler minivan. And it would have been as easy of a fix. But Chrysler doesn't stock the cable end. Just the entire cable. Which is attached to the powertrain harness. The $1200 powertrain harness. I wasn't paying for it (warranty), so Chrysler replaced the $1200 powertrain harness. I told them that was stupid, that there was no good reason behind Chrysler not stocking a $3 cable end. If I were doing it myself, I'd have cut/crimp.

So good on Toyota for stocking the part!
