Where to get A pillar cover clips for side airbag cars?

Hey.

Anyone know where to get these? They are the clip at the center of the A pillar covers. Looks like they prevent the pillar covers from being launched at you when the airbags go off. My dealer says he'd have to buy a whole pillar assembly to get them.

Thanks.

Na, it's super-easy. They slide and pop right in. No significant thought or skill required.

The problem is how to get them.

Try giving the dealer the part number 7559712100. You will want to confirm that that is the correct item. They are only $2.40 at the dealer, so if I am wrong you are out of your morning coffee and donut. :-)

mikered30:

Your part number is correct! Just got them today. I brought the number with me and went back to the dealer (different parts rep this time). I let him look for it without telling him the number. He found it in the "electrical" category, of all places - and it's the same number as you gave. There were only 4 available in the U.S. I bought them all.

Note to self: Do not break this clip when installing your radar detector.

Thanks a lot!

V1 - hands down. Got 'em in both of my cars.

Added a sig, for those interested.

I have a V1 too and I love it. I hardwired it and have a colored CD.

That clip can be a pain as I had to remove mine to run the harness for the Scangauge and V1. Hopefully you secured the wiring to the harness that runs up the a pillar so it does not interfere with the side airbag. If you have the mirror with the map lights, you could have gotten the kit (ebay) to take power from the mirror and not have to run the wiring up the a pillar.

My wires are tied to the harness as you described. I have the V1 power, microphone for the JVC's bluetooth and the mirror's AUX power all running up that pillar. For the mirror, I just added a pin to the existing power cord and ran a new wire over the headliner down the pillar to the ACC. This way the EC portion of the mirror is only on when in ACC or IGN (not that one should be concerned about the current draw if the EC function were always on - but I'm a stickler). I thought about just tapping the already present BAT line going to the mirror and then connecting that to the ACC in on the mirror, but I didn't want the EC mirror on all the time. I'm guess that's what the kit you're referencing does.

I guess my next wish list items would be a HomeLink visor and EC side mirror.

I went with a Scion Tc auto dimming mirror with homelink and led map/mood lights. Looks like it came with the car and I have installed a couple in corolla's already. Look to pay $100 plus for one.

If you have a sunroof, the Scion Tc Mirror (p/n PT374-21051) is best as it comes with a short wiring harness and you can easily tap battery power, ignition power and ground from the sunroof/map light controls.

If you have non-sunroof, look for the Scion Xa Mirror (p/n PT374-21050). It is the same mirror but the wiring harness is over 5ft long and allows you to run the wiring down the A pillar to the fuse box on the drivers side to tap power from.

I installed PT374-02030. $80 new and works awesome.
Sideview EC mirrors would be cool. Haven't looked into what the options are there.
