Doing some maintenance on a friends car and noticed this.

axle boot appears to be leaked. signs of leaked grease on car body.

yep, axle boot is slinging grease, boot clamp has probably worked loose. you can try to re-clamp it but its a pain in the butt. just ignore it until the joint begins to make noise and then replace the whole axle. it could go another 70,000 miles like that.

Yep!! I concur, definately a cv boot.

without grease in the inner cv boots, there may be shaking upon acceleration at higher speeds.
