MIL Light on, have Freeze Frame Data

P0171 light is on and stays on (even when warmed up). 2005 Corolla CE, 104,000 km, no parts replaced (the ECU was reflashed at 35,000km and successfully corrected the RPM hunting).

I did a lot of reading and see all the suggestions (and TSB's), however before I start replacing parts how can I use the freeze frame data to help narrow the cause?
I also saved 20 frames of live data triggered manually (after no special event).

Here's what jumps out:
FF Data shows PID "Bank 1 - Sensor 1 O2S voltage" of between 3.98 & 4.01 - is this too much?
The Bank 1 - Sensor 2 voltage is within specs (at 0.05V), but I can't find the specs for B1S1.

Just looking for advice on properly reading this data.

Thanks.

Thats usually the MAF.

I had to replace mine after getting the code. Try cleaning it with MAF cleaner and then clearing the code.

Any way to use the reader to verify this? I can view live data.

Spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold gasket and see how the engine responds. Did this light only come on when cold?

OK I"ll try that.

The light started coming on in the last week or so. Usually when the car is started or a shortly after (a minute or two). Even if the engine is still warm from a previous drive. It will stay on for the duration of the drive.
It has been cold here lately.

Anyone know what the normal values are for Bank 1 - Sensor 1 O2S voltage?

I dont know the voltage, but it seems probable it is a leaky intake manifold gasket from your description.

I didn't get around to doing further diagnosing however the light has been off the last couple days and since ambient temp has warmed up considerably I'd say you're spot on that it's the intake gasket.

Thanks for the help - if you don't hear back then problem solved!

I went to the dealership for the gasket... back-ordered. Parts guy said they're been waiting for it for over a month and don't expect it until mid-late Feb. He said the warehouse has over 1000 units on order and they have 11 customer cars waiting for this repair.

During my research on this problem I've read many other posts mentioning it's back-ordered, but these were from 2008 & 2009!!! Good to see Toyota is being pro-active and ordering these parts before the freezing temperature comes.
