Replacement speakers for 06 Corolla

Iīve taken out one of the door speakers just to see itīs diameter. I found that itīs a single piece, that is, the frame is part of the speaker. I suppose that I have to destroy the standard speaker in order to adapt a new one using the frame. Can anybody help me? My options are Pioneer, JBL or Blaupunkt. Any suggestion? Than you. GuilleArg

You can get adapter brackets from www.crutchfield.com

They do require drilling though.

I had to rip my front speakers out. I used the existing mount for my MB Quart Speakers. No problems.

Speakers replaced

Iīve alrready changed the speakers.
I replaced the front ones with JBL 6 1/2" components using the plastic adapters provided with them. I had to drill two new holes and to install the crossover on the panel (outside).
I also replaced rear 5 1/2" speakers with two way 6 1/2" JBLs, using the same adaptor and without drilling any hole.
They sound quite good, but I thing they would have sound better with 6x9" behind rear seats instead of rear door speakers. Nevertheless, they are much better than the other ones.
Thank you for your posts.

I just used the stock mounting

I took my drywall knife and cut out the old speaker and installed the new. Simple. Just demo the old speakers. I put 6-1/2" and tweeter Hertz audio set for the front and Basic Kenwood 6X9 for the rear. With one 12" sub. I also installed the sub control mounted on the side of the center console beside my shifter.

I did this on my speaker, and it fits on 6 1/2 or 6 inch speaker. for 6 inch you will find it little too small to sit on, but after you drill some hole to mount the speaker, and it will be fine.
