Traditionally, it doesn't affect resale. The only car I can think of that it did affect resale value was the ford focus. But that has the distinction of being the most recalled vehicle in the last 10 years. This is coming for 17 years in the business. I *might* affect it in the VERY short term, but not after a year or so.

^ I agree. I think the value of our cars will be at it's proper place. Not so worried anyways as I intend to keep this well past 100,000 miles - I actually what to see if I can hit 200K. At that point, there be very little value left!

buy the time I'm ready to trade my Corolla in on a new Toyota the recall will be a distant memory. I have an 07 with 26 thousand miles on it. at this rate I should be in the market for a new Toyota around 2020 if all goes as expected.
