Brake makes a clicking noise

Hi everyone,

I just bought a 2005 Corolla from the Toyota dealership in Jan 2010. I noticed that lately it has been making a small clicking sound when I brake (I feel the click more than I hear it). I took it to the garage yesterday and the man told me that it is most likely due to rust from accumulated snow (since the used car has been sitting outside for a long time). After he repaired it (serviced the brakes), it seemed to be fine for a short drive, but this morning the brakes are getting 'clicky' again.

Additional details to consider: I am parking it outdoors in -20 degree weather. Could that cause the clicking sound?
I feel like the clicking sound gets better as the car heats up more. Is the cold temperature related to the clicking sound at all?

THank you very much in advance for your help

This is just the pads seating into the Calipers. It's normal and not a concern.

Thank you for your reply.
With the other Corollas that I have driven before (one from the 90's and another one from 2000), none of the brakes ever had this problem.
Can you please explain a bit more as to why this is normal? (Any additional websites/references I can read to learn more about this?)

Thank you!! This is my first car so I have a lot to learn. If this is indeed not a problem, then I won't bother going to the repair shop anymore.

You can search this forum from the threadlist. Searching on Click gave me 3-4 threads on the first page dealing with this problem.

I think the pads settle in the caliper when you park the car and then when you start driving again they have to readjust due to the weather or whatever. It does this on 10th gens too
