hahah thanks. yes theres like 64k miles on it. it was squeaking really bad for a while when we forgot the ebrake while driving. and now everytime we touch the brakes, the rear just makes a HORRID HORRID metal grinding/ vibrating noise- its time. i recently did the front discs. and left the rears, but theyve gotten really bad.

for my check list, i was going to get:

-a pair of drums
-a pair of shoes for each side
-hardware kit - someone said i could reuse the springs? any experience tips on that? also, i noticed on autozones site, theres two different packages... which do i need?

-synthetic grease - i have

i have a bunch of standard tools, anything specific i need?

thanks

I did mine and just took my time. Left one side complete for reference. Didn't have any issues. Took about an hour.

shadowtag - I wrote a DIY complete with photos for the rear drum brakes on my 1996 Camry and posted them here...

DIY: GEN 3 Brake Shoe Replacement and Parking Brake Adjustment

Maybe the Camry is similar enough to the Corolla to give you an idea what to expect?
