Code PO741 and PO420

Hey guys,

The check engine light of my 04 corolla is on and I took it to my mechanic and got these codes. I'm not sure if this is covered by warranty since i got 164,000 miles on it. I need to go for smog check soon and I know they will fail it if the check engine light is on. My mechanic told me he might need to change the solenoid but tech from toyota said you might need to change the computer. Any suggestion or you may have same experience, budget is kinda tight and repairs might cost a lotta of dough.

Torque converter and a cat converter problem.

If cleaning the MAS doesn't fix it, check O2 sensor after cat converter. Or you could just take both O2 sensors out and clean them off like you should for maintenance.

Dunno about the torque converter tho...
