Help ASAP... please read...

So my dad's friend corolla needs help and here is the problem (try to make it short)

He left his headlights on for hours and when he started the car it didn't start. So he asked a friend to jump it, but unfortunately, he placed the jumper cable on the opposite terminal to his corolla. (Black jumper cable line to his POSTIVE battery and RED jumper cable line to his NEGATIVE battery). When he start his corolla, he said he heard a spark/flow sound.

So this morning I went and check the car, the first thing I checked was the fuse box under the hood, I replaced 2 flown fuses (Internior and dome i think), other fuses next to them are good) When I try to jump the car, it starts, but no dash or internior light. The cluster only has the Check engine light and air bag light on only (no rpm, anything).
I tried to put it in gear and it would not let me.

Has anyone have any idea on what should I do? Thanks in advance.

BTW, his corolla is a 9th gen, auto.

You need to give full details. Many things could have shorted out in your car from the incident. Anything from power cables under the hood, to the bundled wires in the cabin, to the wiring harness to the ECU, to the maze of wires behind the gauge clusters...

the only for-sure advice we can give with the info you given us so far is that you should never let that particular friend try to fix your car again. you need to check the interior fuse box for blown fuses. It is tucked up under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.
