Checkup queries?

Hi there,

I was away & after my return took my 2nd ride for a 14K checkup.

1. The Toyota techys were satisfied with the performance in general..........no suggestions.........except they recommended that changing my Iridium Denso fro SK16R11 to 20 would increase performance & FC even more......in your opinion which is ideal for Corolla 9th Gen.....16/20/22??

2. The car with the spare wheel, half a tank of gas & a Toyota tech sitting on the passenger seat did 0-60mph in 8.25 secs….not bad I think??

3. As to Performance chip had a meeting with the engineers in SA who manufacture the SMTU-8K chip.......they want a Dyno/lamda reading while cruising & doing 0-60........to see the air/fuel mixture.......coz they said if the car's engine is already performing near 100% for a aspirated engine it won’t be of any help........however if the engine performance is below 100% for an aspirated engine........than it would take it to 100%.

4. Do you think that I should go for Perfomance intake cermaic black manifold & Magnaflow catbcak exhaust.......because the early rpm low end torque isssue has been resolved.....adding these 2 & the chip would cost me near around $1,800/........performance even now is great.......like 0-60, FC, top speed clocked??

Hoping to hear your experienced views.

IK16 is the stock heat range for a n/a 1zz and IK20 is for a s/c 1zz and XRS.

The IK20 is a colder plug compared to the IK16.

Thanks for the indepth clarification......probably they wanted to sell their plugs for 110 bucks.............

Is 5W-80 fully synthetic engine oil superior to 5W-30 as far as engine performance is concerned?

I feel my 9th Gen is performing 100% for a n/a engine performance wise.

What tests besides Lamda readings do I need to get done to actually document the performance?

FC at crusing i.e 70 MPH is 45 M/GAL.......top speed clocked is 125 MPH at 64K RPM......0-60 is 8.25secs.....no issues at 14K miles......

Thanks!
