I remember reading a review of a Corolla in a comparison economy test that was conducted by Car and Driver magazine and they tested it to be around 112-115mph. (Governor limited)

lucky! US cars are limited to 115 because they cheaped out on higher speed tires here. many times, factory speed limits are based on what tires are put on at the factory, which is why different regions have different speed cuts.

Too bad while you have good engines. On some roads, we have no speed limit so there is no factory speed limit. There are some manufacturers who have a safety limit at 155.34mhp. But that does not depend on the tires.

I think a corolla factory can go about 149 mph with the big engine.

Have a look ;-).

Since 2007, there is the Toyota Auris with the same engines as the Corolla, but it is a completely new car. In some countries it is still called Corolla. Currently belongs to me an Auris.

From the Auris, there is currently no sport version. The most powerful engine here is currently the 2.2 liter diesel with 177 horsepower. The engine is completely identical with the engine in the corolla. The maximum speed should be at about 149 mph.

I know mine can hit 205km/h... roughly 127mph, no governor so it could've gone faster.
