My 04 rolla was idling low(like 600) so I tried to clean the idle speed cotroller thats localted under the throttle body. I accidentally stripped the screws. So I just sprayed throttle body cleaner into the 2 holes where the valves of the ISC are. Reused the throttle body gasket.
CEL came right on when I start the car. Codes were identical to those listed on TSB of intake manifold gasket. Good amount of smoke was coming out the exhaust. I went ahead and replaced both gaskets but the symptom did not go away.
My automotive tech teacher looked at the car and found the problem to be the front vent hose(not the PCV one) that goes on to the valve cover has a very strong suction and is sucking oil out of the crank case. Random misfire codes was caused by the oil on the spark plugs. We plugged the hose, cleaned the spark plugs and called it a day
Could I have messed up the ISC by spraying cleaner into the holes? I heard theres a rubber gasket that prevents liquid from getting into the electronic part and cleaner can dissolve that gasket
