Breaching the firewall.

So after doing oem foglights on my 8th gen, my brother who has a 9th gen liked the way they looked.

I read jasonA's guide to it, bought the kit off ebay, and was able to get them working. (running directly off the battery in a test situation.

While I have everything wired, I cannot get the signal wire though the firewall. The grommet that I do see to the left of the master cylinder is way to small to fit the connector and the cable. I tried to take off the grommet, but cannot do so.

Any thoughts?

Is there a safe place that I can drill thought the firewall? (if thats even possible?)

I taped my wire to a small wooden dowel and carefully and slowly pushed it through the grommet. YMMV

Crowbar911 where can I find the guide? We have a 2005 and actually got lights for our 03 corolla which was just totalled, and we never got around to figuring out the install on the lights, I assume a guide would be more helpful than just trying to "hack" it in.
