Depo Auto Lights

Has anyone bought anything or heard anything about depoautolights.com? They're one of the few places I've found that has the Altis S grille that I've been looking for and I'm just wondering if anyone has any opinions on them. Thanks!

never bought from them before, but they seem legitimate. which grill were you looking at anyway? the prices are pretty good and it also looks like they're having free shipping at the moment, at least for the US, idk about Canada.

I was looking at the black Corolla sport grille. I must have read Altis from the one next to it.

I was trying to figure out how much their shipping would be to Canada but even going through all the purchasing steps it was looking like it was still free. If it really is free I can't complain.

definitely. I say, if the price is right, go for it. there was a parts sponsor on 9th gen corolla.com that had those same grills for $85 shipped (forum member's price). he hasn't been active for a few months though, so idk about him.

Maybe their grills are OK, but their lights are trash.

yea, from that study it seems like their headlights, at least for the two tested models, are not really up to par, but it's not like a grill has to conform to any FMVSS's. plus that study was done in 2004, how do we know they haven't upped their production quality since the study? now that I think about it though, I did get my driverside headlight replaced after I hit a deer and ever since then that headlight shines a little bit differently than the other, hmm, makes me wonder. I also have the Altis 2nd gen taillights http://depoautolights.com/toyota-cor...0efa615344591b , made by DEPO, and, at least in my opinion, are much better than the factory ones. they way they're designed lookes much better (more rectangular at the clear parts as opposed to circular designs in the oem tails, which I like) and the LED brake lights are much better looking IMO. they did have a slight fitment issue but it was that the clips were a bit too tight and took a little more effort whereas that study says the clips were too loose causing them to wobble.

Because noöne's made them do that. They crank out the substandard; people purchase it.

It's the same reason the Silverstar Ultra bulbs are still out there-- people think they work better and look cooler and keep buying them. They're not being made to change (in the case of the Silverstar they are compliant with the minimum standards of the law), so the free market regulates itself into an inferior product (1380 lumens and 250hr life at 13.2V for the H1) being consumed by the masses. Profit!
