Old Old Motor Oil...will Kill The Engine?

i am abou tot buy one 03 corolla.

guess what? when i went to try out the car, drove into gas station and asked for a lube service, oil change and filter replacement.,

the techie said "will not change your oil due to this (and showed me one sticky paste..later i found out that was about a long time no-oil change. )O

went ahead in investigate this black stuff inside the engine chamber..and it is cause by a very old oil inside the engina.

okay..the ownser put the corolla to service it, i watched the service, took pictures and everything.

now my question is, after flushed and de-carbonized valve chamber and carter...

is this a safe buy? or a no-go sign to me?

WHAT DO YOU THINK? SAFE BUY? OR A NO GO?

There is no way in hell I would buy this car with the way that looks. Good thing it was noticed before you bought it, wow I wonder if the oil was ever changed.

It looks like that car went for a swim AND went about 100k without an oil change.

Hmmmm..... If you have not spent any money on that.... Do not spend any money on it. That sort of sludge build up can come from a few things. Most likely is not getting oil changes often enough, clogged PCV systems, and frequent overheating. In anycase, I would do as a previous poster recommended and run away. There has to be another corolla out there for you, cause that one is not worth buying.

Good luck....

If you do buy it... be prepared to do oil changes way more often than usual.

Honestly though... ide suspect that thing is about to let go with that much sludge inside
