Knocking from roof

I have a 2006 Corolla S and have recently started hearing an annoying metallic knocking from the roof right above the front driver side. At first I thought it was due to the weather warming up but I've been hearing it more and more regardless of the temperature. I removed the antenna thinking that may be it since it was loose but the creaking was still there. It only seems to happens when I run over a bump and it does not matter whether the moonroof is open or not. I've checked all the panels in the car and they are tight as can be and the screws in the moonroof track seem to be properly torqued as well. If I drive on flat surfaces there are no knocks but any little bump makes the sound happen, does anyone know what may be causing it or has anyone encountered this before?

Not sure if you got the answer but I had a similar problem with my 06 LE. The dealer finally found that there is a metal hook or something just where the rear glass fits in. There wasnt much insulation / packing between that and the glass and with every bump that I hit that metal would bang against the glass. In the end I believe that they put some more packing and moved the metal just enough to make it stop doing that.
