Question 06 Toyota Corolla E-brake/rear Brake Adjustment

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to adjust the emergence brake/rear brakes for a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The emergency brakes has become loose and pulls up to about 11 oclock.

Rear brakes self adjust when stopping while rolling backwards. Before you try adjusting the cable, back up and hit the brakes 8-10 times before trying to adjust.

I rarely hit the brakes in reverse and have to do this every month or two to keep the rear shoes adjusted.

E brake adjust

You can also remove the center console and tighten the cable. I have considered doing this myself after replacing pads and backing up/braking several times. anyone know if this cable stretches over time?

That is the incorrect way to tighten the cable. The correct way to to take off the drum and adjust.
